What is a freight calculator?
A freight calculator turns shipment measurements into the figure a carrier or a customs authority will actually bill you on - cubic metres for sea freight, volumetric weight for air and courier, duty and import tax for a customs entry. The arithmetic in each one is simple. The value is in applying the right formula, in the right unit, on the right basis for the shipment in front of you.
Which calculator do I need?

How accurate are these calculators?
The arithmetic is exact and every result shows its own working, so you can check it line by line. Where a calculation needs a real-world value that varies - a courier divisor, a duty rate - it is an input you supply rather than a number we guessed, because a stale constant hidden inside a tool is worse than no tool at all.
Where do the numbers come from?
Most of these tools are pure arithmetic with nothing to source: a cubic metre is a million cubic centimetres and always will be. Where a tool does depend on a published figure, that figure is listed with its source and a last-checked date at the bottom of the page, and the page says so plainly if something is still being verified.
Can I use a result on a customs declaration or a booking?
Use it to plan, check a quote and question an invoice, but not as the declared figure itself. A booking or an entry has to match what the carrier measured and what your broker classified, and those can differ from a calculation for reasons nothing on this site can see - dimension rounding, a reweigh at the depot, a classification call. Every page says the same thing at the bottom, and the disclaimer says it in full.
Can I share a result with my supplier or forwarder?
Yes. Every calculator writes your inputs into the page address as you type, so copying the link sends the exact result you are looking at. There is a copy button under each result. The recipient sees your numbers already filled in and can change them.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript. Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or stored - there is no server to send it to. The only thing that leaves your browser is a share link, and only if you choose to send one.
Which units are supported?
Where it matters, both. Dimensions can be entered in centimetres, metres, inches or feet, and weights in kilograms or pounds. Volumetric weight is the exception: it asks for a unit system rather than separate toggles, because a divisor is only valid for the unit pair it was published against.
Are these free? Is there a paid version?
They are free and there is no paid tier, no account and no signup. The site will carry advertising once it is established enough to qualify, and that is the whole business model. Nothing behind a login is planned.
Who built this?
One person, publicly. The site is deliberately narrow - freight and logistics maths, nothing else - because a small set of tools that are right beats a large set that are approximately right. If a number here looks wrong, the contact page has a real email address on it.
